During their meeting on Wednesday, the Oluwo highlighted the safety and attractiveness of Iwo for business and investments, emphasizing the need for a concerted effort towards bilateral economic advancement.

Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi conveyed his firm belief in the economic potential of Iwo, his domain, and the state of Osun, underscoring the region’s business-friendly environment. The Oluwo expressed his optimism regarding Nigeria’s improved security situation, assuring the Chinese Ambassador that the atmosphere for business was becoming increasingly conducive. He emphasized that both Iwo and Osun were primed for investments, assuring that foreign companies could thrive with utmost security and profitability.

The paramount ruler urged the Chinese Ambassador, Cui Jianchun, to prioritize Iwo when considering investment opportunities within Nigeria. During his visit to the ambassador’s office in Abuja, Oba Akanbi passionately advocated for a strategic collaboration between China and Iwo, fostering mutually beneficial economic ties. He stated, “I urge the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Cui Jianchun, to work closely with the new government for an improved economic tie. The insecurity is being checked and decimated. Nigeria is now safer for business. In my domain, Iwo, and my state, Osun, is business-friendly. Your companies and investments are safe with maximum profit.”

Furthermore, Oba Akanbi called upon the Chinese government to cooperate with Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu, in enhancing the nation’s production capacity and investment drive. Recognizing China’s remarkable progress as a production powerhouse, the Oluwo stressed the potential benefits of forging a bilateral economic affinity. He commented, “China is ahead. They started from somewhere. Today, they are the giant in the production sector. Their economic status is superlative. We should have a bilateral economic affinity with them.”

In his address, Oba Akanbi extended his views on the possibility of seeking loans from China to expedite Nigeria’s infrastructural growth and development. While acknowledging the importance of caution, he expressed a level of trust in China’s ability to provide support for Nigeria’s infrastructural projects.
