The senate minority deputy leader, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, has decamped to the All Progressives Congress from the Peoples Democratic Party.

The senator was welcomed to the ruling party by President Muhammadu Buhari, along with APC Caretaker Chairman and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni.

Bwacha, who is 59 years old, attended University of Calabar where he studied Public administration.

He is a three-term senator representing Taraba South.

He was the commissioner for Agriculture in his home state of Taraba between 1999 – 2003.

He represented his Donga Constituency inn the House of Representatives from 2003-2007.

In 2011, he was first re-elected into the Senate, to represent Taraba South.

He was re-elected in 2015 and 2019
