Glenn Close, who was scheduled to be one of the presenters at the Oscars, will not be attending the event due to her contracting COVID-19. Close was one of 40 celebrities lined up to present at the awards ceremony, but she will have to miss it because of her health condition. Her representative confirmed that she is currently resting and isolating, and is upset about missing the Oscars.
According to Vanity Fair, Close was set to reunite with her “Air Force One” co-star, Harrison Ford, during the ceremony. However, now that she is unable to attend, it’s unclear who, if anyone, will take her place.
The Oscars will still have an impressive lineup of presenters, including Samuel L. Jackson, Jessica Chastain, Hugh Grant, Sigourney Weaver, Antonio Banderas, Michael B. Jordan, Florence Pugh, Pedro Pascal, Melissa McCarthy, Nicole Kidman, Andrew Garfield, Halle Berry, John Travolta, and many others.
Close’s absence is a significant loss for the event, as she is a well-respected actress with an impressive filmography. However, her health and safety come first, and we wish her a speedy recovery.
It’s unfortunate that Close will miss out on the opportunity to reunite with Ford, with whom she shared the screen in the iconic movie “Air Force One.” Nonetheless, the ceremony will undoubtedly feature plenty of memorable moments and big names.
