Many couldn’t comprehend the joke Chris Rock made about Jada Pinkett-Smith that led to him receiving a slap from Will Smith.

“Jada, I love ya. ‘G.I. Jane 2,’ can’t wait to see it,” Rock said before taking a Smith’s slap.

Baffled about what’s the connection between Pinkett Smith and ‘G.I Jane’? Well, it is because the actress has recently shaved her head. Last year, she announced that she has been struggling with alopecia through an Instagram post.

“Now at this point, I can only laugh… y’all know I’ve been struggling with alopecia. Just all of a sudden, one day… it just showed up like that,” Pinkett Smith wrote in the caption.

“Now, this is going to be a little bit more difficult for me to hide. So, I thought I’d just share it so y’all not asking any questions… Mama’s gonna have to take it down to the scalp so nobody thinks she got brain surgery or something. Me and this alopecia are going to be friends … period!”

“G.I. Jane” is a 1997 movie directed by English film director Ridley Scott with Demi Moore as its lead. The movie centers on character Lieutenant Jordan O’Neil (Moore) chosen to be part of the US Navy as it is criticized for not being gender-neutral. In the movie, the actress donned a buzz-cut hairstyle. Sadly, the film didn’t perform well at the box office and was included in the 18th Golden Raspberry Awards, a parody award show, from Moore’s performance.
