Mane joined the Reds in 2016 from Southampton where he rose to stardom. Mane holds the record for scoring the fastest hat-trick in Premier League history, achieving the feat in 2 minutes and 55 seconds. Mane plays primarily as a left winger but has recently been playing as a centre -forward in recent weeks, since the arrival of Colombia international Luis Diaz.

Mane became the first African to score in a UEFA Champions League final since Didier Drogba in 2012 against Bayern Munich, when Liverpool lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in 2018. The Senegal captain has spent six seasons at Anfield and has become a household name at the Merseyside club. However, it seems Mane is attracting interest from another European powerhouse in Bayern Munich.

His agent, Bjorn Bezemer has been seen in Munich and it is likely he intends to hold talks with the Bavarian chiefs in an attempt to land the Teranga Lion at the Allianz Arena. Both parties understand that signing Mane will be no easy task and discussions may well drag deep into the summer. Mane is very happy at the club and these discussions between Bezemer and Bayern Munich’s hierarchy could well force Liverpool into offering Mane a bumper contract.

Liverppol are also working on contract extensions for Salah which have ended fruitless on a great many occasion. The fans are urging the board to upgrade Salah’s wages and it is now little wonder why Mane could consider Bayern Munich an option. Bezemer has not stated, however, that he wants pay rise for his client, but Liverppol are confident of keeping Mane for next season and possibly beyond.

Mane has scored 14 Premier League goals in 32 appearances this season. He was the joint golden boot winner, with Mo Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring 22 goals as well at the end of the 2018/2019 Premier League season.
