CAF Draw Scheduled in Nairobi as Nigeria Prepares for Return to Competition
The home-based Super Eagles, also known as the Home Eagles, will find out their group-stage opponents for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) on Wednesday, January 15.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced that the draw ceremony will be held at the Kenyatta International Convention in Nairobi, Kenya. The tournament will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, adding a unique dimension to this year’s biennial competition.
After a six-year absence, the Home Eagles are making their return to CHAN, securing qualification with an impressive 3-1 aggregate victory over rivals Ghana.
The competition is scheduled to take place from February 1 to February 28, 2025, featuring teams composed exclusively of players who ply their trade in domestic leagues across Africa.
As excitement builds, Nigeria’s preparations are in full swing. The Home Eagles have been training in Ikenne, Ogun State, with the final squad list set to be announced soon.
