TEDxIbara: Ogun Be Ready For The "Mastering Change" Themed Event

TED was founded to serve as a platform of convergence for the world’s leading thinkers and doers – or we’d rather call them “The World Changers”.

These Changers gather to share ideas that matter; with no restrictions, ideas shared borders around technology, entertainment, design, science, earth, politics, education, culture, comics, art, music, health, medicine, humanity, business development and any other subject matter worth spreading.

TED talks are not motivational and theoretical, they are intended and designed to be timely, practical, informational and to serve as catalyst to the advancement and improvement of concerned areas of discussions in the host communities.
To effectively spread ideas in every nook and cranny of the world, TED created the TEDx Program to support independent organizers (communities, organization and individuals) who are interested in sparking up deep conversations, facilitating
connections amongst attendees and bringing about improvement in specific fields of discussion.

TEDxIbara – “Mastering Change”, would bring together identified Changers in various sectors under the Theme Concepts which includes Real Estate, Media & Photography, Public Policy, Arts & Culture and Technology & Innovation. Change is unarguably an unchangeable factor synonymous to every topic up for discussion in our society nowadays. While this is most reasonable, the profound prevalence of this key factor is usually ignored; the incessant clamour for “change” does nothing but cloud people’s perspective thereby misconstruing “change”.

While it may yet seem small, that we sometimes ignore them, the ripple effects of these small Changes are extraordinary. Vincent Van Gogh, a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter, once said, “Great things are done by a series of small things brought together”; we belong to this school of thought and it is because of this reason and many others that TEDxIbara – Mastering Change was conceived.

This convergence is aimed at, first, identifying the very many “’little’ great changes” happening around us under the Theme Concepts; to recognise the emergence of these innovations and new industries as well as the unabated evolution in existing
industries making waves and improving the economy of our locality and the nation at large.

TEDxIbara looks to familiarise attendees with the latest trends of best methods and practices being imbibed by these industries; to acquaint participants with new processes, optimal and much more creative ways of carrying out duties and
changing the world while at it!

Most importantly, TEDxIbara – Mastering Change intends to drive the understanding of the principles of Change, the objects of Change itself and its multi-forms of adaptation within the community as it relates to the Concepts for discussion.

Topics and Industries that fall under the chosen Concepts for TEDxIbara have been identified to have changed and still changing the status quo of our community’s economy as well as its people. Discussions at TEDxIbara – Mastering Change tends to also highlight measures to sustain these Changes and ensure their progression by all criteria to the continuous benefit of our community.

Confirmed Speakers for TEDxIbara include Seni Sulyman, Adenrele Sonariwo, Babajide Odusolu, Tolani Alli, Femi Aliu, Oluwatobi Oyinlola and more to be unveiled in the coming days.

TEDxIbara would be bringing together 100 open-minded, forward-thinking, fascinating creatives. Attendees would include Industry Professionals, Entrepreneurs, youths, student groups and other members of the local community and its environs, who are interested in broadening their minds by participating in a Conference dedicated to sharing innovative ideas.

TEDxIbara would be hosted at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) Youth Centre on Saturday, 19th May, 2018.
