Candidates who want to gain admission into Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) for the 2026/2027 academic session should know the minimum score and admission conditions before applying. As of 2 April 2026, TASUED has not yet released an official 2026/2027 admission screening notice on its website. So, the latest official admission benchmark available is the one used for the 2025/2026 session. 

For the 2025/2026 admission exercise, TASUED stated that candidates who chose the university as their first choice and scored at least 160 in UTME were eligible for the online admission screening. The university also said candidates must be at least 16 years old by the stated deadline for that session. Until TASUED publishes a fresh 2026/2027 screening advert, this is the most reliable guide for prospective applicants. 

What is the TASUED cut-off mark for 2026/2027?

The official TASUED cut-off mark for 2026/2027 has not been announced yet. However, the latest official TASUED minimum admissible score was 160 for the 2025/2026 academic session. That means candidates targeting TASUED in 2026/2027 should aim for 160 and above at the very least, though a higher score will give a better chance, especially for competitive courses. 

It is also important to note that JAMB’s minimum tolerable score for universities for 2025/2026 was 150, not 180. So the older claim that JAMB fixed the university cut off mark at 180 is no longer current. TASUED’s latest official benchmark of 160 was therefore above JAMB’s general minimum for universities. 

TASUED admission requirements for 2026/2027

Based on the latest official TASUED admission update, candidates are usually expected to meet these conditions:

  • choose TASUED as first choice in JAMB

  • score at least the university’s stated minimum admissible UTME score

  • take part in the online admission screening, which TASUED says is mandatory

  • meet the correct O’Level subject requirements for the chosen course

  • for Direct Entry, obtain the proper JAMB Direct Entry form and choose TASUED as first choice. 

TASUED also explained that screening is based on a point grading system, using the candidate’s UTME score and grades in five relevant SSCE subjects. The university advised applicants to check the JAMB brochure for the right subject combination before applying. 

Is TASUED departmental cut off mark 180?

There is no current official evidence on the TASUED website showing a general departmental cut off mark of 180 for all courses. The most recent official admission notice for undergraduate screening fixed eligibility at 160 minimum admissible score for the 2025/2026 session. So, saying that TASUED departmental cut off mark is generally 180 is outdated based on the latest available official information.

Important update for 2026/2027 applicants

TASUED’s academic calendar shows that the 2026/2027 session is expected to begin on 10 August 2026, but that is not the same thing as the admission screening announcement. Candidates should therefore keep checking the TASUED portal for the official 2026/2027 screening form, cut off mark, and application dates once they are released. 

There is also a major institutional update: TASUED has announced the Federal Government takeover of the university, effective 7 March 2025. Some newer official materials now use the name Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED), although the school website and admission pages still widely use TASUED. For search purposes, it is wise to include both names in your content where relevant. 

Final answer on TASUED cut off mark for 2026/2027

For now, the safest and most accurate update is this: TASUED has not officially announced the 2026/2027 cut off mark yet, but the latest official score used by the university was 160 for 2025/2026. Candidates should therefore target 160 and above, choose TASUED as first choice, and wait for the official 2026/2027 screening notice for confirmation.

    • The general cut-off mark for TASUED is 180. So you qualified for the post-utme screening exercise for the 2018/2019 academic session. Just keep tabs on updates know the screening date and other necessary procedures.
