The Enugu State Police Command have reportedly arrested six suspected cult members of the Supreme Viking Confraternity during the initiation of a new member.

According to Punchng, the state Police Public Relations Officer and the National Coordinator of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices, Ebere Amaraizu, said that the suspects were arrested by the Emene Division in the Akpoga Nike forest during the initiation of a new member on Saturday around 10pm.

PR Amaraizu, disclosed that the arrest of the suspects was made possible by credible information provided to the police by members of the public .

The police spokesperson said one of the suspects, 20-year-old Njoku Sylvester, a native of Mgbo in Ebonyi State, but living in Emene, was being initiated into the confraternity when they were arrested.

Njoku revealed that he was forced to join the group as they promised to make him prominent and also promised him protection.

The other suspects as Ede Chijioke, aka CJ Black, a native of Ugbawka in the Nkanu East Local Government Area of the state; Edeh Ibeabuchi, aka Wiseman, 18; Chinonso Ugwu, aka Chaka Bullet, 25, a native of Onuogba Nike; Oko Udochukwu, aka Double, 21, from Onuogba Nike; and Chinedu Nwakasi, aka Aro Swag, of Ugwuoba Oji River.

The police are using these arrested suspects to investigate and fish out the remaining members of the confraternity.
