The governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu aides and commissioners have resigned according to reports.

The aides who are part of the state Executive Council  and six in number tendered their resignation letter due to the directive of the governor that all his political appointees who have expressed interest to run for political offices in 2019 should resign on or before Monday (tomorrow).

The six political office holders who have put in their letters are the Commissioner for Agriculture, Gboyega Adefarati; Commissioner for Land and Housing, Donald Ojogor; Commissioner for Commerce, Timehin Adelegbe; and the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs Omowumi Olatunji.

Also affected by the governor’s directive are the Special Adviser on Rural Development, Victor Olabimtan; and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr Jibayo Adeniyi who also put in their letters.

Some of the appointees, who have obtained the nomination form had earlier signified their interest of representing their constituencies in the green and red chambers of the National Assembly.
