Quavo Reveals He's Picking Bobby Shmurda From Prison

When Bobby Shmurda walks out of New York’s Clinton Correctional Facility a free man, he’ll be embraced by family and friends who have long-awaited his release. Since the Brooklyn emcee made a strong impact on the hip-hop community, Quavo will also be there to pick him up and ensure he gets welcomed home the right way.

“I’m going to get my guy,” the Migos rapper revealed in an interview with Billboard. “I’m personally gonna go pick up Bobby Shmurda. I’m bout to go get him. I’m gonna let him show you how I’m gonna pick him up, yessir.”

Shmurda was arrested in 2014 on gang conspiracy, drug, and gun charges. He was initially sentenced to seven years, but he was later granted an early release because of his good behavior and participation in jail programs.

Bobby Shmurda will be released from prison as early as tomorrow.

As previously reported by REVOLT, the “Hot Nigga” rapper will be home any day now; his conditional release — which will be followed by about five years on parole — may be as early as tomorrow.

Upon his release, Shmurda’s mother, Leslie Pollard, says the rapper plans to enjoy a private dinner with his family and will then hit the studio. He’s already made his return to social media, writing, “How the fucc y’all forget about me?” alongside a video teasing his impending freedom.

If GS9 affiliate Rowdy Rebel’s wishes come true, the “Bobby Bitch” star will soon return to the stage pretty soon as well. Rebel — who celebrated his prison release in December — wants to perform at Summer Jam 2021 alongside Shmurda. “We definitely gon’ show up to Summer Jam,” he recently told Hot 97. “I normally wouldn’t speak on my brother’s behalf, but I know my brother ain’t gonna miss Summer Jam… Some things are just mandatory, and Summer Jam is mandatory.”
