One Killed, Three Missing As Fire Razes São Paulo Towers

One person has been reported dead and three others still missing as fire razes the Sao Paulo Towers in Brazil.
The 26-storey building in Brazil’s largest city collapsed 90 minutes after catching fire.

The high-rise had been occupied by squatters and firefighters fear more people may have been trapped inside.

Firefighters were alerted at 1.30am local time (5.30am in the UK). More than 170 firefighters are at the scene, along with a civil defence response team and the army.

It is not clear how many people were in the building at the time but 50 families are registered as living in the block, according to local media.

Live television footage showed a firefighter on next door rooftop talking to a man clinging to a rescue rope and trying to escape from the upper part of the burning building.
