Nigerian Idol S7: David Operah And Itohan’s Performances At The Recent Live Show – An Overview
David Operah and Itohan showed a very high level of versatility and originality at the recent live show.
The Nigerian Idol Season 7 has so far been a very competitive one for the contestants and a breathtaking one for the judges.
The theme for the night was the African Greats and this meant the Contestants were going to perform iconic hits from African artists and boy did they deliver. True to the theme of African greatness, the Contestants all looked dapper and glamorous in their outfits and definitely turned heads when they stepped on stage.
After Banty’s performance, There were three Contestants left with only one slot available to make up the Top 10 for the Season. Who was it going to be? That question was on the mind of viewers last night who couldn’t wait to get the tension over with. The three Contestants left were David Operah, Precious, and Joel who were called to the stage by IK before he announced that David Operah was filling up the Top 10 spot.
After that nerve-racking moment, David Operah went on to perform ‘Street Credibility’ by 9ice ft 2baba. His performance was definitely the high point of the night as he had D’banj, Simi, and many of the live audience on their feet halfway through his performance. At the end of his performance, he got a loud ovation from the audience and positive reviews from the Judges.
The reality show is currently witnessing a very interesting competition as unusual.
David Operah, a professional singer who featured in “The Voice Nigeria” in 2016 with a superb performance at the auditions, is amongst the top 10 contestants of the Nigerian Idol Season 7.

Contrary to his “Pillow Talk” performance, he has proven to be a phenomenal singer. D’banj (one of the Judges) could not but connect to the vibes of David Operah, He got all the judges on their feet with his bespoke performance, and he has since caused a stirring in the minds of many, leaving fans of the Nigerian Idol in a state indecisiveness as many agreed that his performance was top-notch.
Itohan, a 17-year-old singer who has garnered many fans with her electrifying voice, her versatility, and outstanding performances. She is arguably the most discussed contestant, and her performances record the highest number of views both on the Africa Magic and Nigerian Idol YouTube pages.
This season of the Nigerian Idol is witnessing an unprecedented event at the top 10, where no contestant at this stage can be termed “the winner to be” as the competition is getting more intense.
