Naira Marley: From EFCC Custody To Public Menace

For Naira Marley, it appears like a journey from EFCC dungeon to the world! But to many, he stepped out of custody to become a bigger menace to the society.

Naira Marley’s latest song, “Soapy” is definitely a song that has gathered a lot of buzz and reactions from music listeners. His lewd message is a great turn off to many.

Soapy conveys a message of masturbation. According to Naira Marley, he’s only sharing his experience from the Okotie Eboh detention but where’s the moral? Okay, should we say we already used to songs with no reasonable or positive message but has it gotten to this level? I mean to a level of deterioration when an artist sings all about “masturbation” introducing a dance style to it as well?

Recall Naira Marley was held on the grounds of cybercrimes after releasing “Am I A Yahoo Boy” featuring Zlatan Ibile. He was eventually released on bail of two million naira and sureties. Apparently, he learnt on that side ’cause he’s gone low on his noise about “yahoo yahoo” but he takes to another wind of immorality and this time, it’s something he can’t be arrested for.

Naira Marley’s Soapy song is gradually becoming a trend as it has already taken over social media. What are we going to do about it? The youths and teenagers are already catching up on the so-called Soapy dance already. This is a public menace that demands a clampdown!
