Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata could return to the Spanish capital after his loan deal with Juventus expires at the end of May. The Spain international has found his feet in the Serie A and is very happy at the club, according to sources close to the player. Morata understands he is still an Atleti player and he respects that fact. However, the forward will be hoping to remain at Juventus, where he has had ample playing minutes under his belt.

Atleti loaned Morata to Juventus in a late deal that happened in August last year. There is a buy option included but Juventus complain that it is too high and they will not pay the stipulated amount. The Turin side is happy with Morata’s progress and is hoping he will remain with them for longer than now.

Atletico Madrid have confirmed that Luis Suarez will leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season and this has caused many to wonder if Atleti will not capitalize and take back their player. Morata is open to returning to his parent club but will also weigh up an option if Juventus comes calling on a permanent transfer.

It is believed that Juve boss Max Allegri is impressed by his performances this season with the Old Lady and he has urged the board to sign the Spaniard on a four-year deal. Morata has all the time to think it over this summer as he will prepare to make up his mind in a few weeks’ time. The power is not in his hands, as it now depends on Juventus to meet the asking price of Atletico Madrid or reach an agreement that could see Morata’s price lowered for an amount they can afford.

Juventus have a lot of work in the transfer window, as earlier hinted by Max Allegri a few weeks ago. With Dybala, Chiellini, and Bernardeschi all leaving at the end of the current campaign, it is likely that Juventus will bring in up to five players to fill up the voids. Atletico Madrid will discuss with Juventus in a few days’ time regarding the situation of Morata.
