In preparation for potential transfer talks involving midfielder Kalvin Phillips, Juventus are preparing, via sporting director Cristiano Guintoli, to meet with Manchester City. Juventus is reportedly eager to sign Phillips during the upcoming January transfer window. This information comes from La Gazzetta dello Sport. Juventus and Manchester City officials are anticipated to meet soon. This is particularly true given that Manchester City is getting ready to compete in the Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia later this week.

Juventus’ interest follows remarks made by Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, who recently suggested that Phillips will not see regular playing time for his side this season. It would appear that Phillips is now free to consider other possibilities as a result of this declaration.

The former Leeds United player Phillips has been linked to Juventus for a while. Since key players like Paul Pogba and Nicolo Fagioli are out with bans, the Italian club is presently trying to bolster their midfield.

The English midfielder, who is 28 years old, has seen very little action this season for Manchester City, appearing in just eight games across all competitions and clocking up just 215 minutes of playing time. In a third-round match against Newcastle United for the Carabao Cup, he made his only appearance of the season.

Regarding Phillips’ future, reports indicate that several teams are interested in signing the English international, including Juventus, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United. Whether Phillips decides to stay in England or seek out a new challenge overseas is still up in the air.
