Lionel Messi is on the verge of making a career-defining move to Manchester City and he has urged former Barcelona teammate Neymar to join him there.
According to a report by ESPN Brazil, the Argentine player is eager to play side by side with Neymar again after letting his current club know that he wishes to leave this summer.
Messi reportedly has his sights set on a reunion with Pep Guardiola at Manchester CityΒ and wants Neymar to join him at the Etihad.

The transfer hasnβt been official as at the time of writing this but Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has said that Messiβs arrival at the English Premier League would mean a seventh Ballon dβOr for him.

Speaking with TalkSPORT, Rooney’s words about Messi were:
βI know heβs getting older but heβs a player who no one has seen before. Messi has everything β he can create goals, score goals, dictate the game, and is the best player of all time.
Heβs one of the only players Iβve sat there and watched and been in awe. He and Cristiano Ronaldo have set a standard which I donβt think we will ever see again but, for me, Messi is just on a different level.β
The United States shouldnβt be in his mind because heβs too good. He could come to the Premier League and be a Player of the Year. One million percent. If he surrounds himself with Bruno Fernandes or Kevin De Bruyne he could win a seventh Ballon dβOr, which would be incredible.β
