A new report reveals that Inter Milan are set to offer Lionel Messi the deal of a lifetime as his contract with Barcelona comes to an end.
La Gazetta Dello Sport reports that the 33-year-old Argentine playmaker is yet to sign a new deal at Barcelona and can walk away for free next summer as Inter Milan are ready to make a lucrative deal with him.
According to the news outlet, Inter will offer Messi an incredible deal with a salary of £235 million over a four-year contract that would see him earn £60 million every year to continue playing until he is 38.
If the deal goes through, Messi will reunite with his old rival Cristiano Ronaldo in Serie A and will overtake him as the league’s top earner.
Ronaldo was being paid £27.3 million at Juventus before taking a pay cut as a result of the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
