Lionel Messi Expresses Desire To Leave Barcelona
Lionel Messi has reportedly asked Barcelona to activate a clause that would end his contract

Lionel Messi has finally hit the nail on the head; he has had enough with Barcelona and wants to leave the Spanish club.

The development was confirmed on Tuesday and it was revealed that the Argentine sent a document telling the club to activate a clause that would end his contract, making him a free agent and allowing him to leave this summer.

Barcelona received the writing via fax from Messi’s lawyers and though they have not yet given their reply, it is expected that they are preparing to do so.

However, Barcelona does not agree that the clause is still active as it is said to have expired on June 10, 2020, 10 days after the original date of the Champions League final on May 30.

Messi’s lawyers argue that the clause is still active after the rescheduled final on August 23 which was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

During his time at Barcelona, Messi has won 6 Ballon d’Or awards, helping the club win 10 Spanish league titles and four Champions League trophies.
