Lekki Residents Trapped In Flood; Urges FG To Intervene

Residents of Lekki, Victoria Island, Ikoyi, as well as some other parts of Lagos could not go out as they were trapped in their houses as a result of the downpour on Saturday, 12th October 2019.  The downpour started as early as 3 am.

The heavy rainfall has left many homes flooded and drainages blocked. Areas mostly hit are Lekki, Victoria Island, Ajah, and all the way to Ibeju-Lekki.

Many people were unable to go about their daily businesses as a result of the downpour. The water went as far as entering people’s houses and destroying furniture.

The residents of these areas have made a cry of help to the government, asking the government to come to their rescue before the situation gets worse.

  1. Govt either Lagos or federal should not waste our leaned resources on these people sebi they have money reason they began building on waters. Instead of the contract ng to agage/ mushin buy off those old dilapidated buildings and turned it to paradise estate. They started building on rriver and water beds and channels. Serves them right
