Lancashire club Burnley are now looking to move on after sacking Sean Dyche, their coach of 10 years. The Clarets are out of the relegation zone currently after defeating Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday, coming from a goal down to win 1-2 thanks to goals from Jack Cork and Josh Brownhill.
Interim manager Mike Jackson must be praised for his work after taking the Clarets as high as 16th on the Premier League table. The fight for survival is heating up at the bottom of the log, with Everton, Watford and Norwich City(who have already been relegated) occupying bottom places.
Burnley have enquired about the availability of Bodo Glimt manager Knutsen. Bodo are a Norwegian club in the first division of Norwegian football. They are one of the powerhouses of Norwegian football and it is little wonder why Knutsen was shortlisted. Another name that is on the list is former Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany.
Kompany is the current manager of Jupiler Pro League side RSC Anderlecht in his country, Belgium. The former Belgium international landed the job in the summer of 2021 and is one of the youngest managers around Europe. Burnley are being rivaled in their quest to land Knutsen as the club’s new manager. Other clubs around the continent are monitoring Knutsen and an unnamed French club are also in the running to land the Norwegian tactician.
Burnley gained promotion into the Premier League in 2014, having been relegated in the 2009/2010 season. Sean Dyche joined the Clarets in 2012 and led them to their famous return to the PL when Leicester City won the Championship in 2014.
