LAUTECH students arrested by EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abuja has apprehended 25 students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) in Ogbomosho, Oyo State for their participation in internet fraud.

The students, whose ages range from 18 to 29, were picked up by EFCC operatives for engaging in cybercrimes like love scams, false pretense, and obtaining money through false means.

The arrest is further proof of the EFCCโ€™s renewed zeal in their quest to stamp out internet fraud in the country and the crackdown on Yahoo Boys lately has been a joint effort between them and the United Statesโ€™ Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
