Igboho: Go After Armed Bandits, Oodua Group Challenges DSS

Sunday Igboho

The Coalition of Oodua Self-Determination Group (COSEG), a Pan Yoruba socio-political organization has challenged the Nigerian Department of States Service (DSS) to go after armed bandits terrorising the North Central part of the country.

The group berated the destructive home invasion of Pan Yoruba Activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo also known as ‘Sunday Igboho’ called the invasion a disdain for the Yoruba race.

COSEG made this known in a statement issue and signed by its Chairman and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ifedayo Ogunlana and Dele Daramola.

The statement reads; “We cannot sit and allow this irresponsible show of power go without condemnation, it is sad that our governments are misdirecting their interventions.

“This brute show of power is yet to be used on Gumi’s friends in the bush. What is good for the goose should also be good for the gender.

“It baffles us that till today our security forces that are showing crude power and intimidation have not arrested any Fulani man that came to destroy town and villages in Igboho’s state nor have we heard that they stormed the houses of Fulani men that destroyed Igboho’s town last month. But they have the will and power to take the lives of Yoruba men and destroyed their property.

“No right-thinking Nigerian will believe the reasons adduced by the security agents in attacking ’s house. It is cruel and laughable, it’s a way of calling a dog a bad name in order to hang it.

“We refused to be sold a dummy. They should stop overheating the polity and divert their strength and force on Gumi’s friends wherever they are. Let them use their force on people the Fulani Lords displacing people of their property, cruel people maiming, kidnapping and raping our people.

“We have heard it before now that a conscious and tactical method has been allegedly designed by some Fulani led presidency officials to silence the Yoruba voice. We never knew this is what was designed. Now, we can see the extent the Fulani led security forces can go,” part of the statement read.

“We want to say and very clearly that their right is being tampered with and this is condemnable.

“We warn that the federal government should put a stop to this selective invasion and arrest. We are not happy with the trend and the ways and manner this Fulani herdsmen are going about the country destroying our property and expecting us to keep quiet.

“No matter what is being done to protect the criminal Fulani men that have made the western part of Nigeria home, we shall resist their destruction and murders. We will not gift an inch of our land to them.

“It is clear that our security agent wants to intimidate those who can stand for their people in the southwest. That was why they stormed ’s house and thereafter put a wanted man tag on him.

“We call on the security to drop this illegal tag on and this petty method and intimidating style of witch-hunting should stop forthwith.

“Sunday Igboho is a responsible man, he must not be killed while the tag of a wanted man put on him must be dropped with immediate effect. We are not just happy as things are and the trend of events,” the group stated.
