DSS Not Ready To Release Sowore After Meeting Bail Conditions - Falana

The Department of State Security (DSS) has continued to hold Omoyele Sowore after fulfilling his bail condition and his lawyer, Femi Falana has been denied access to see him.

It’d be recalled that only yesterday (September 24), Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court, in Abuja ordered the DSS to release the activist on bail.

Sowore had since fulfilled the bail condition as directed by the court and also served the copy of an affidavit of compliance to the DSS through his lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN).

talkGlitz.tv also gathered that Femi Falana, who arrived at the headquarters of the DSS at 4:00 pm, was prevented from seeing Sowore.

Justice Taiwo Taiwo had ordered the release of Mr. Sowore after hearing arguments from both the prosecuting and defence counsels. The bail conditions included that he deposits all his travel documents with the court in the next 48 hours. Also, the judge asked Mr Falana to present him (Sowore) whenever the court needs him – all of which as at the time of filing this post has been met.
