The House of Representatives on Tuesday resolved to suspend plenary for two weeks amidst coronavirus scare.

The House said the period was to allow the Management of the National Assembly and principal officers, provide screening facilities at the complex.

Rep. Ndudi Elumelu proposed an amendment to the prayers of the motion calling on the National Assembly to suspend plenary for 2 weeks in order to oversee what is being done to contain the coronavirus nationwide.

The amendment was adopted by Rep Josiah Edem(PDP-Akwa Ibom) calling for serious tackling of the disease.
