Camp Nou, the home stadium for FC Barcelona is now cracked in 127 different places, TalkGlitz reports. This poses a major threat on the safety of fans in the forthcoming games

21 games were held at the ground under the previous administration with serious structural issues that posed a risk to fans’ safety.

Between the spring of 2019 and autumn of 2020, La Vanguardia claimed that of those 127 failings, 44 were deemed so dangerous that they could have caused injury to supporters attending those games.

According to the report, the presidency of Josep Maria Bartomeu didn’t deem the issues – flagged by building consultancies Nikken and Arup – pressing enough to resolve.

And it has only been since the arrival of Joan Laporta that they have begun to be addressed, with 1.8 million euros spent in August to get the problems fixed in time for the start of the season.
