Benue Killings: 'Accept My Sympathy',  Buhari Tells Ortom

President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom over the reported wanton destruction of lives and property that led to the killing of several persons and varying degrees of injury to others in Guma and Logo Local Government Areas of the state on the New Year Day.

He conveyed his condolence message in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu in Abuja on Wednesday.

According to the Presidency, the President is deeply saddened at the “wicked and callous” attacks on the people of Benue state that even includes innocent children.

The President assured the governor and people of the state that relevant security agencies have been directed to do everything possible to arrest those behind the regrettable incidents and avert further attacks.

“This is one attack too many, and everything must be done to provide security for the people in our rural communities,” he said.

President Buhari also commiserated with families of the victims and wished the injured speedy healing.
