Army Arrest UNIMAID Students Who Allegedly Posed As Boko Haram To Rob Students In Maiduguri

Suspected male students of the University of Maiduguri, Borno State  who allegedly posed as Boko Haram members to attack their fellow students and  perpetrate crime by  stealing  from them have been arrested by the Nigerian Army.

There is however a trending video of some military officers with the culprits.

In the video, a senior military officer told reporters who were present while the criminals were being paraded that

All of them are claiming Boko Haram. What I fear now is that those who went to the University to attack that day may not be Boko Haram. It may be these students trying to attack students and to collect money. They may not be Boko Haram. They may not be Boko Haram. You know if you kill somebody’s goat now, you will shout Boko Haram”.

Early this month on  the 15th, soldiers  had repelled an attack on University of Maiduguri by some men believed to be Boko Haram members. The senior military officer in the trending video believes the suspected Boko Haram members might be students of the school who had  hid under the cover of Boko Haram to  in order to commit crimes.
