An action spinoff of the John Wick movies will be made courtesy of Lionsgate and Len Wiseman will take the directorial duties.
The upcoming movie is titled Ballerina and revolves around a young female assassin seeking payback against those responsible for the massacre of her family. The script comes from Shay Hatten, who also wrote the third John Wick movie.
Whether or not Keanu Reeves’ character will make an appearance isn’t clear at this point but the project could be a profitable one for the producers as preparations for a fourth John Wick have already commenced. John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum brought in a lot of money and was also loved by both fans and critics.
Ballerina ought to have a strong female lead as part of what made the John Wick franchise successful is Reeves’ unique and spectacular portrayal.
