32-Year-Old Man Locked Up For 7 Years Rescued By Police [VIDEO]

The Kano State Police Command has rescued a man identified as Ahmad Aliyu after he was locked up for seven years by his father and stepmother in Farawa Babban Layi, Mariri Quarters in Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state.

The police came to Aliyu’s rescue after a video clip showing him looking emaciated and dehydrated went viral.

According to reports, he has spent days without food and water and drank his urine whenever he was thirsty. This made a concerned neighbor alert the police in Farawa and members of an NGO called Human Rights Network.

Aliyu was ‘imprisoned’ by his father and stepmother after they suspected that he had started smoking and getting involved with hard drugs.

His father and stepmother have been apprehended by the police.

The police thereafter arrested Ahmad's father and Stepmum and took away their victim. This incident comes days after an 11-year-old Down syndrome patient was rescued after his father and stepmother chained him in an animal store for over two years in Kebbi.
