173 Nigerians who had been stranded in Libya were received by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Tuesday, October 15, 2019.
The returnees arrived the country in two different flights and were received by Alhaji Abubakar Muhammed, Coordinator, Lagos Territorial Office, NEMA at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos State.
Muhammed revealed that their arrival was made possible with assistance from the International Organization for Migration and the European Union (EU) under the Assisted Voluntary Returnees Programme which started in April 2017.
“The profiling of the returnees on arrival indicated that there were 52 female adults, four female children, and four female infants as well as 106 male adults, two male children and five male infants.
