The Yobe State Government has declared Monday and Tuesday as public holidays to welcome the President, Muhammadu Buhari to the state.

The Head of Service in the state, Garba Bilal disclosed this in a statement to journalists in Damaturu on Sunday.

President Buhari will be visiting the state to inaugurate projects, including Cargo Airport, Ultra-Modern Market and Maternal and Child Health Care Complex.

According to Bilal, Governor Mai Mala Buni declared the public holiday to enable both the civil servants and the general public opportunity to receive the president who will be in the state on a one-day work visit.

“I write to inform you that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon Mai Mala Buni, has declared Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th January 2023 as public holidays,” the statement read.

“This is to enable civil servants and the general public to receive the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, who will be in the state on a one-day State Visit to commission projects.”

He stated that civil servants will resume work on Wednesday, January 11.
