Nigerian music sensation, Joseph Akinfenwa Donus, popularly known as Joeboy, recently opened up about his regret of not being more vocal about his accomplishments in the entertainment industry.
Speaking on the renowned podcast show ‘Body & Soul,’ the talented singer emphasized how his humility may have undermined his worth in the highly competitive music scene.
During the podcast episode, the host questioned Joeboy about any aspects of his career he would have approached differently, despite his remarkable success as a singer.
In response, the artiste revealed that he often contemplates being more assertive and expressive about his musical achievements. According to Joeboy, his calm and composed demeanor have sometimes caused people to overlook his impressive milestones.
Reflecting on his journey, Joeboy humorously stated, “What could I have done differently? I would say, be more arrogant [laughs]. Because you people don’t have respect. When you are always calm, they just feel like say you are not that guy or something. It’s crazy, but it is what it is.”
“I felt I should have been more loud about my achievements because, to be honest, una no reach,” Joeboy explained candidly. “But it is what it is. We grow and we learn. That’s one thing I wish I had done then; which I’m going to do now.”
