In an interview with Forbes, the Afropop superstar disclosed that Dangote’s financial discipline and control over impulsive spending are the driving forces behind his frugal car-buying habit, which ultimately translates to saving money.

Davido, who is a friend of Dangote’s family, spoke about the billionaire’s prudent financial management style, saying, “Every time I see him, he just says one thing, ‘Save your money!’. There’s nothing more he tells me, every time save your money. He and my dad have been very close friends.”

Furthermore, Davido praised Dangote for his contributions to Nigeria’s economic growth. “He [Dangote] has done well for us [Nigerians] back home. He made us a lot of industries. He just opened the biggest factory in Africa. That’s providing jobs,” he said.

Dangote is the founder and CEO of the Dangote Group, which has interests in cement, sugar, salt, pasta, and other commodities. He is also the owner of the largest cement producer in Africa, with operations in several African countries. Forbes currently estimates his net worth at $11.5 billion.
