Antonio Rodriguez, a Miami police officer, has been fired after he was caught on camera assaulting a black woman at the Miami International Airport.

The footage comes from a body cam on another officer and reveals Rodriguez landing a punch on the lady’s face after she confronted him at the airport yesterday, July 1, 2020.

In the video obtained by the Miami Herald, the black woman is seen in a terminal facing two police officers and taunting them, saying to Rodriguez, “You acting like you white when you really black… What you wanna do?”

As she steps right up to the cop with her face only inches away from his, she gets slammed in the face by the provoked cop who connects his fist to her left cheek.

As his colleagues rush to handcuff her, Rodriguez tells them, “She headbutted me.

Minutes after the video surfaced online, Miami Police Director Alfredo Ramirez II responded, saying that he was “shocked and angered”, adding that he had immediately initiated an investigation.

The police chief also revealed that he had ordered that Rodriguez and the involved officers be relieved of duty.
