Twitter Blue For Android Announced; Web Subscribers Get Cheaper Annual Plan Twitter has announced that they will now be charging a monthly fee of $11 for their Twitter Blue subscription on both Android and iOS platforms.

This move comes as Twitter looks for ways to increase revenue and retain advertisers, especially as its owner Elon Musk fights to keep them.

The social media giant is also offering a cheaper annual plan for web users, which is priced at $84 and provides a discount from the monthly web subscription fee of $8.

The annual plan will be available in countries such as the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Japan, New Zealand and Australia.

Additionally, the previously free blue checkmark for verified accounts will now be available for purchase for anyone willing to pay.

Twitter has not yet commented on its pricing strategy for Android users, but it is speculated that the higher pricing for Android may offset fees charged by Google Play Store, similar to Apple’s App Store.
