As of now, specific details about the meeting have not been disclosed, but it is widely speculated to be related to the recent issues surrounding the leadership of the ruling party.

The meeting took place just a week after Senators Adamu and Omisore allegedly resigned from their respective positions, creating a stir within the APC. Their resignations came days before the scheduled National Caucus and National Executive Council meetings initially planned for Monday, July 18, and Tuesday, July 19, 2023.

It is worth noting that at the time of their resignation, President Tinubu was attending the Fifth Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union in Kenya and had not met with the two former officials until today.

Senator Abdullahi Adamu, when approached by reporters for comments on the development, declined to make any statements until the President’s return. It should be mentioned that neither of the two politicians has made any public announcements regarding their resignations since July 17.

However, the Acting National Chairman of the APC, Abubakar Kyari, confirmed the resignations during a recent meeting of the party’s National Working Committee in Abuja.

The meeting between President Bola Tinubu and the former APC officials holds immense significance as it comes amidst a crucial time for the party. Speculations are rife about the implications of these resignations and their potential impact on the party’s future direction.
