President Bola Tinubu has charged the newly-decorated service chiefs to prioritize teamwork as they take on their critical roles in safeguarding the nation.

Those decorated were Christopher Musa, chief of defense staff (CDS); Taoreed Lagbaja, chief of army staff (COAS); Emmanuel Ogalla, chief of naval staff and Hassan Abubakar, chief of air staff.

The presidential spokesperson, Dele Alake, conveyed President Tinubu’s message, emphasizing the paramount importance of maintaining a cohesive and collaborative approach to tackle the nation’s security challenges.

The president applauded the remarkable dedication, unwavering commitment, and steadfastness demonstrated by the armed forces in upholding the country’s peace and stability.

“We have seen that we are recording positive results in our security challenges because of your dedication, commitment, and steadfastness,” Tinubu said.

Assuring the service chiefs of the government’s full support, President Tinubu underscored the significance of virtues such as unity, selfless service, and positive team thinking, even in the face of current economic challenges.

He expressed optimism that Nigeria would forge ahead to a brighter future, as long as its leaders and citizens work together harmoniously.

The President urged all members of the armed forces to view themselves as part of one united family, regardless of their diverse backgrounds, fostering a sense of camaraderie and shared purpose. He further stressed the importance of honest and dedicated service to the nation, reiterating his administration’s commitment to addressing the prevailing economic hardships faced by Nigerians.

“We are committed to serving you and not to rule over you,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the newly-decorated service chiefs, Christopher Musa conveyed their unwavering determination to safeguard the nation’s security and defend its territorial integrity in their respective capacities.

Pledging to uphold the safety and well-being of the nation and its citizens, Musa expressed profound gratitude for the trust placed in them and pledged to fulfill their duties with utmost dedication and loyalty.

“Our appointment is a clear manifestation of the confidence reposed in us and recognition of our humble abilities to deliver for our dear nation. We pledge to carry out our duties with utmost dedication and full loyalty,” Musa said.

“I assure Mr president that the armed forces of Nigeria are 100 percent loyal to the government. We will go wherever we are ordered, whether by air, sea, or land.

“We will ensure that Nigeria is projected in good light. May God bless Nigeria and guide the armed forces in our efforts to guard our nation’s territorial integrity, and ensure peace and security reigns supreme.”
