Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems has received her nomination at the Oscar Academy Awards.
Her nomination comes after her contribution as a songwriter on Lift Me Up, one of the soundtracks on Black Panther, Wakanda Forever in the Best Original Song category of the 2023 Academy Awards held on January 24, 2023.
Tems becomes the first Nigerian artiste to be nominated for an Oscar nomination. She was nominated in the category of Best Original Song ahead of the 95th Oscar Academy Awards scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on March 12.
Lift Me Up was written by Tems and was performed by Rihanna for the movie Wakanda Forever.
