Incoming Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has reportedly gifted his teammates at Dortmund as well as staff at the club exotic wristwatches. The Norway international has bid everyone at the club farewell and he is set to begin his new chapter at Manchester City by the start of June. Haaland signed for Manchester City earlier this week for £51m and his contract at the Etihad will be until June 2027, with the possibility of extending till 2028.

Haaland was close to tears with many at the club and the big striker is loved by all at the club. The 21-year-old is eager to get started at City and can’t wait to be in Pep Guardiola’s team as the quest for English dominance continues.

Haaland joined Borussia Dortmund in 2020 January for a fee reported to be around £20m. He quickly became a cult hero at Dortmund when he scored a hat-trick on his debut when he came off the bench. Haaland has been in top scoring form ever since and the Norwegian will be looking to replicate such form in the next couple of seasons at Manchester City.

Dortmund have already signed the striker’s replacement. Germany international Karim Adeyemi has penned a five-year deal with Dortmund worth £35m and the 20-year-old rejected transfers to Barcelona and Manchester United to ensure he plays for Dortmund. The Rhine club have also signed Nico Schlotterbeck from SC Freiburg on a long-term deal. Schlotterbeck plays as a centre-back and was tipped to join Bayern Munich but had already agreed on personal terms with Dortmund since March.

Manchester City are in the market as well as they look to bolster their midfield by signing a holding midfielder. Holland’s Frenkie De Jong has been talked about and is admired by Pep Guardiola but city rivals Manchester United are also pursuing the transfer of the 24-year-old. Manchester City is fully focused on winning the league and a win over Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon will crown them champions of England for the 2021/2022 season.
