The first session saw Si take a 5-3 lead, with both players displaying their attacking prowess. In the second session, Si started with a 52 break on his first visit to the table, and Brecel struggled to catch up, leading to an outburst that allowed Si to go up 6-3.

Despite a sloppy start to the second frame, Brecel managed to score 65 points, and he went on to win the next frame, cutting Si’s lead to 6-4. However, Si took the next three frames to extend his lead to 9-4. He continued to dominate after the interval, leading Brecel to clean up with a red to go up 9-4.

Brecel briefly cut Si’s lead to four after the Chinese player missed an easy blue to the middle right, but Si quickly regained control with a break of 55. In the final frame of the session, following a break of 71 from Si, Brecel was unable to do enough damage before Si finished him off, taking an 11-5 advantage into the evening session on Friday.

The third and final session will take place at 19:00 UK time, and the winner will meet either four-time world champion Mark Selby or Mark Allen in the Crucible final in Sheffield. Si could become the youngest-ever Crucible finalist if he advances as a debutant.

The 20-year-old Chinese player has been in superb form throughout the tournament, defeating top-ranked players such as Neil Robertson, Stuart Bingham, and Mark Williams. He has impressed with his precision and attacking style, and he will be hoping to continue his winning streak in the final session to secure his place in the final.
