Ryan Mason, the current caretaker manager of Tottenham Hotspur, has expressed confidence in his ability to lead the team following their recent defeat by Newcastle. The 31-year-old midfielder, who was appointed as Spurs’ third manager this season, has promised a positive reaction to the team’s embarrassing 6-1 loss at St James’ Park last weekend.
This is not Mason’s first stint as caretaker manager of Tottenham. He was previously appointed to the same role at the end of the 2020/21 season after Jose Mourinho was sacked.
However, his current tenure is set to be more challenging, as he is expected to manage the team for six more games, including a tough match against Manchester United on Thursday and an away trip to Liverpool on Sunday.
Mason’s appointment comes after Cristian Stellini was sacked on Monday in response to the team’s poor performance. The former Tottenham midfielder’s playing career was cut short after he suffered a fractured skull during a match while playing for Hull City in 2017. Despite this, he has remained involved in football and is ready to lead Tottenham.
During a pre-match news conference on Wednesday, Mason spoke confidently about his new role, stating that he feels comfortable and is ready to take on the challenge. He acknowledged that managing a football team requires being prepared for any situation, and he has no doubt that he is up to the task. He sees it as just another part of being involved in football and is ready to handle it as business.
