Real Madrid have met the asking price of Monaco for Aurelein Tchouameni today following recent inquiries about the availability of the player. Tchouameni has been scouted by Liverpool in recent weeks and the English giants were ready to spend up to £60m for the Les blues star. However, Tchouameni spoke to a couple of his teammates last week and disclosed his intention of becoming a Real Madrid player if the chance came.
Sure enough, Madrid entered negotiations with his agent and attempted to rival Liverpool for Tchouameni’s signature. The Reds did not improve their offer and this morning Real Madrid sent a £72m bid to Tchouameni’s representatives regarding a possible switch.
There are strong reports in France that Tchouameni has agreed to personal terms with Real Madrid and are waiting to make the announcement shortly. Tchouameni will fly into Madrid for his medical and sign the contract in a matter of days.
Tchouameni is fully focused on joining Real Madrid and has communicated with Monaco chiefs about his decision. The 22-year-old is regarded as a quality defensive midfielder and can also play box-to-box.
The Frenchman is excited about the prospect of playing in ‘the biggest club in the world’ and is looking forward to the summer. However, Liverpool may attempt a last-ditch effort to lure Tchouameni into their ranks but this possibility may not be considered by the board.
Salary is believed to be in the region of £100k weekly for Tchouamnei at Real and the board and players are very excited about having him with them. Tchouameni played 35 games for Monaco in the 2021/2022 season and e scored three goals. He has been categorized in the level of Joshua Kimmich, Wilfred Ndidi, Fabinho, and the like.
