In a recent statement, Prophet Wale Ojo-David, the Chief Shepherd of The Harvest Centre Mission, emphasized that the emergence of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the President-elect of Nigeria is a divine appointment, urging Nigerians to accept it with goodwill and unity. The renowned prophet, based in Ikorodu, Lagos, shared his views amidst the ongoing legitimacy crisis surrounding Tinubu’s victory, emphasizing that God had chosen him to lead the nation and guide Africa towards a brighter future.
Prophet Wale Ojo-David, known for his accurate prophecies, had already foretold in 2021 that Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu would be Nigeria’s next president. His prophecy seemed to have materialized when the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Tinubu as the winner of the February 25, 2023, presidential election. However, the victory is currently being challenged by other candidates through legal means.
Expressing concern over the rising tension in the country due to the ongoing litigations against the president-elect, Prophet Ojo-David urged Nigerians to shun bitterness and acknowledge the legitimacy of Tinubu’s mandate. He emphasized that part of the divine purpose behind Tinubu’s leadership was to provide a unifying and cohesive administration for the progress and liberation of Nigeria and the African continent as a whole.
Prophet Ojo-David highlighted that leaders are chosen by God based on His own criteria, rather than human standards. He encouraged the people to tap into the grace of God and fervently pray for their leaders to fulfill God’s mandate without deviation.
“The interest and well-being of our nation should transcend sectional, religious, and personal biases that currently threaten to tear our social fabric apart,” the spiritual leader of the Harvest Centre Mission stated. He emphasized that selfishness, bitterness, and distrust were contrary to the principles of godliness and urged individuals to foster unity, love, and trust in their relationships with one another.
Prophet Ojo-David expressed disappointment in some clerics who disseminated misleading public messages and cautioned them to seek guidance from the Holy Spirit before making pronouncements on matters of public interest. He emphasized the importance of avoiding actions that could unnecessarily inflame the political climate.
