Prominent Personalities Pay Tribute to Late Mrs. Hilda Adefarasin

Several eminent personalities, including the Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (retd), and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, gathered at the funeral service of late Mrs. Hilda Adefarasin. The ceremony took place at Guiding Light Assembly in Ikoyi, Lagos, over the weekend. Mrs. Adefarasin, who passed away at 98, was the mother of Pastor Paul Adefarasin, the founder of House on The Rock Church.

During the service, attendees paid tribute to the deceased, describing her as a devoted lover of God who exemplified the love of God in her daily life. Other prominent figures in attendance included the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, former Lagos State Deputy Governor, Femi Pedro, and the founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo. Pastors Tunde Bakare, Idowu Iluyomade, and Ituah Ighodalo were also present, alongside Abah Folawiyo, Segun Awolowo, and Olumide Akpata.

Bishop Oyedepo, who had a close relationship with the deceased for over three decades, expressed his admiration for her unwavering love for God. He said, “I met her some 27 years ago, and all I saw was the flowing love of God in her life. She loved God, and she exuded the love of God like her natural breath. She was after the things of God with all her heart.”

Furthermore, FCMB founder, Subomi Balogun, praised the deceased for her gentle nature and kindness. He recalled how she acknowledged him and spoke to him and his wife during Pastor Adefarasin’s church dedication.

In conclusion, the funeral service of Mrs. Hilda Adefarasin was a solemn occasion that brought together some of Nigeria’s most prominent figures to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who left an indelible mark in the hearts of those she encountered.
