Presidential Election: Atiku Defeats Tinubu, Obi To Win Bauchi, Kebbi

The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar, has been declared the winner of the presidential election in Bauchi and Kebbi states.

Abubakar polled a total of 426,607 votes in Bauchi state to defeat his closest contender, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who had 316,694 votes.

Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) got 72,103 votes while Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) polled 27,373 votes.

Abdulkarim Mohammed, the state collation officer, announced the final results on Monday at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Bauchi, the state capital.

The total number of registered voters in the state was put at 2,749,268 while accredited voters totalled 899,769.

The valid votes were 853,516; rejected votes, were 29,030, while the total votes cast stood at 882,546.

However, in Kebbi state Atiku polled a total of 285,175 votes to win the state.

Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, was said to have polled 248,088 votes.

The collation officer said Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) standard bearer, had 10,682 votes while Rabi Kwankwaso, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), scored 5,038 votes.

He gave the state’s total registered voters as 1,983,985, and the number of accredited voters as 599,201.

The total votes cast were 591,475, the total valid votes were 559,522 and 31,953 votes were rejected.
