Alake shared this sentiment with journalists in Lagos, noting that President Tinubu is acutely aware of the expectations for Nigeria’s leadership and is fully prepared to meet this challenge.

President Tinubu earlier in the day welcomed President Umaro Sissoco Embaló of Guinea Bissau for a private meeting at his residence in Ikoyi, Lagos.

A statement released by Abiodun Oladunjoye, Director of Information in the State House, highlighted that President Embaló took the occasion to express his solidarity with Nigeria and readiness for collaboration under President Tinubu’s leadership. Although the visit was a private one, Embaló, who also serves as the Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, used the opportunity to fortify the brotherly relations between the two nations.

Oladunjoye quoted Alake, who acknowledged President Embaló’s commendation of President Tinubu’s commendable policy initiatives in the past month. Alake also emphasized the international community’s admiration for the substantial strides made by the Nigerian leader.

“He came to pay his solidarity and bond with a brother African head of State, in the first instance, and in particular as a brother Head of State in West Africa,” Alake elaborated.

“This is a very commendable sign of things to come in the entire West African region in terms of the atmosphere being generated by Nigeria’s giant steps in the last one month, and the need for Nigeria to take its rightful place in the African affairs.”

The Special Adviser underscored the anticipation in Africa and the ECOWAS region for Nigeria to step up, stating that President Tinubu is fully prepared to take on the challenge.

President Embaló’s visiting delegation included his Special Adviser Caramo Camara, Chief of Staff Califa Soares, Diplomatic Advisor Ambassador Alfredo Cabral, and Image Operator Bonifacio Correia. Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, and Alake joined President Tinubu in receiving the Guinea-Bissau President.
