President-elect Bola Tinubu, who is due to be inaugurated on May 29, is expected to return to Nigeria today after his vacation in France. This was confirmed by Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Director of Media and Publicity, via Twitter on Monday.

Reports indicate that Tinubu’s plane will land at the presidential wing of the Abuja Airport, where he will be greeted by a carnival-like motorcade that will escort him to the Defence House.

Tinubu’s campaign council had previously explained that his trip to France was meant for him to rest and plan ahead of his inauguration.

The APC presidential campaign council had released a statement in March, noting that Tinubu had left the country through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja.

The statement explained that the president-elect had decided to take a break after the rigorous campaign and election season to rest in Paris and London before going to Saudi Arabia for Umrah (Lesser Hajj) and the Ramadan Fasting.

In other news, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dissolved its presidential campaign council.
