Today, President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to visit Maiduguri, the capital city of Borno State, to commission a new 50-megawatt gas power plant.
The gas plant, which was built by the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited, will supply electricity to Maiduguri and its surrounding areas. Sadly, on Sunday, a fire outbreak engulfed the entire Maiduguri Monday market, destroying shops and goods worth billions of naira.
President Buhari has pledged the Federal Government’s support to the Borno State government’s efforts to alleviate the victims’ suffering.
