Louis Vuitton, the French fashion house, has named Pharrell Williams as its new creative director for men’s fashion. Williams, a well-known fashion icon and producer, will be replacing Virgil Abloh in this role. The announcement was made on Tuesday by Pietro Beccari, the CEO and Chairman of Louis Vuitton. Beccari praised Williams for his past collaborations with the brand and welcomed him to the team.

Williams is set to debut his first collection for Louis Vuitton in June during Men’s Fashion Week in Paris. This announcement is historic as it makes Williams the second Black American to lead a major European luxury house. Virgil Abloh, who passed away in November 2021 due to a rare cancer, was the first Black American to hold this position.

Pharrell Williams has a strong history of contributions to the fashion world, including designing custom sunglasses and Nike Air Force 1’s. With his new position, the sky is the limit for Williams and his contributions to the fashion industry.
